WHAT IS THE AMAZING GRACE PROJECT?

"Amazing Grace" is probably the most well-known hymn of all time.  Many people, religious or not, are at least familiar with the first verse:

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

For over 200 years*, "Amazing Grace" has shown how music and word can stir the hearts and minds of people towards the meaning of their existence and, ultimately, to the God who created them.

Recently, we've asked a number of our musical friends to send us videos of themselves singing and playing "Amazing Grace."   This project is developing a collection of "Amazing Grace" videos performed in all kinds of styles, recorded by diverse musicians from around the world.

*"Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn published in 1779, with words written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton (1725–1807).
