Jazz for the Soul is so pleased to present award-winning and critically acclaimed vocalist Alice Tatum and her world-class band including Nicole Pesce (piano), Todd Chuba (drums), and Jon Murray (bass). Alice's phenomenal vocal range and impressive repertoire present an ever-dynamic and entertaining show you must see!
Alice Tatum is an award-winning and critically acclaimed singer who has been a fixture on the Phoenix music scene for over 30 years. She is an accomplished jazz vocalist, excelling in pop music genres. Alice has performed with greats such as Michael McDonald, Tom Scott, The Righteous Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Alice Cooper, and Nancy Wilson. She has sung on national commercials, TV, and film and three of her own CD projects.
Nicole Pesce Pianist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger Nicole Pesce entertains audiences with a unique blend of virtuosity, humor, and pizzazz. Nicole’s “Happy Birthday Variations” video has over eleven million views on YouTube.Nicole has performed for Muhammad Ali, Ricky Martin, George Bush, Sr., Waylon Jennings, Taylor Hicks, George Benson, Janet Napolitano, Shaquille O’Neal, Jimmy Carter, Chris Rock, Steve Nash, The Gypsy Kings, Glen Campbell,Margaret Cho, and Brian Setzer. She’s appeared with American Idol contestant David Hernandez, The Moscow Ballet, Zowie Bowie, The Cast of Mary Poppins, Young Frankenstein, and Mamma Mia. In February of 2023, Nicole appeared as a featured headliner for Arizona Music Fest’s premiere concert series, presenting “Isn’t It Romantic–A Swingin’ Valentine’s Day” show. The performance featured Nicole alongside the acclaimed international piano duo of Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi. Todd Chuba is originally from rural Michigan but moved to Arizona to study music at ASU. He has been a professional drummer and percussionist, specializing in a variety of musical genres and styles, for over 35 years.

Bassist Jon Murray returned to the Phoenix five years ago with his family after 19 years teaching and performing music in Southern California. Mr. Murray has held several teaching positions, including most recently as orchestra and jazz director at Arizona School for the Arts and Music Theory professor at Grand Canyon University. In addition, Jon held the position of Jazz Director at Arizona Christian University, as orchestra and jazz director at Flintridge Prep School in the L.A. area, and other teaching positions at Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, California State University Northridge, the Master’s College, and the Colburn School of Performing Arts. He performs regularly as a bassist in various jazz ensembles and orchestras in the Phoenix and Los Angeles music communities.
