Join us at SPIRIT OF HOPE for Jazz for the Soul featuring drummer, composer, educator, and recording artist - Robby Carrillo - showcasing his debut album and some favorite standards, with friends Nick Manson/piano, Andrew Gross/tenor sax, and Ben Hedquist on bass.
This will be a night of rhythm and groove you won't want to miss.
Robby Carrillo – Drummer, percussionist, and educator, is based in Phoenix, Arizona. He began playing music professionally at age 16. Carrillo attended Arizona State where he received the Jazzbird Scholarship and studied jazz performance and composition under Dom Moio and Michael Kocour. Carrillo has performed with greats, Joe Lovano, Fred Forney, Michael Kocour, Armand Boatman, Marty Ashby, Charles Lewis, and many others. He opened for Benny Golson in Chicago at the famed Jazz Showcase. Carrillo is an in-demand drummer, and seasoned studio musician.
